Cariña is sick.
It started Tuesday late afternoon with severe pains in her left back leg when she was about to climb stairs . She neither ate nor slept in the bed for three days and that is alarming. She parked under my husband's desk, trembling of pain.
Thursday I took Cariña to the vet Satu, very skilled and sympathetic, and she examined Cariña.
The result was that either has my lady been biten (THE DAMN SNAKE IN OUR HAY THAT BIT ME FOUR WEEKS AGO?) or stuck by something, or perhaps a rupture in the muscle or...
Yes, I was biten by a snake some weeks ago in our barn. Not very good to have a (several?)snake in the barn.
A blood test made sure it wasn't the snake. Blood samples were sent for analysis for tics, we will have the result tomorrow.
In the mean time Cariña is given antibiotics and pain killers. Today, Sunday, Cariña has recovered. She is eating again, she sleeps in the bed, she jumps into the car, she barks and so on.
Thursday was a busy day. Our horses had taken the fence down and Esset had hurt himself on the front and back leg. Kalle had hurt himself on the back leg. Phui.
It could have been much worse and now the horses are back home. It's easier to keep an eye on them and their wounds when they are close.
That was the news report from Möckleby!
